How You Can Help
Quality education remains a distant dream for many vulnerable children in rural villages in Uganda. Most of these children are either out of school, or receive inadequate education because there are not enough schools, parent’s inability to afford tuition, not enough teachers and learning resources.
At PCCS we believe that every child has the right to an education. Education transforms lives and increase opportunities for sustainable development and economic growth.
About 60% of children at the ages of 3 to 17years in the rural villages in Uganda do not attend school. Over 60% of children living in slum areas and rural villages in Uganda are missing out on primary school education. About 45 percent of these are girls. These children are at greater risk for exploitation by becoming victims of child labor, early marriage, unemployment and lower income-earning potential.
PCCS is working hard to address these critical issues, as part of our mission in reducing illiteracy and improving the quality of education children receive, we decided to build a school that will provide vulnerable children with quality education, available resource for learning and thriving environment to excel. The new educational center we are building will accommodate 80-200 children from the ages of 3 to 17years, from kindergarten, lower grade and middle school. Our vision for this initiative is to ensure that every child-regardless of gender, ethnicity or circumstances-has access to a quality education.
