“OUR STORY” “
"PCCS Orphanage for Children is the realization of our dream to care for orphaned children. After realizing the appealing challenges many orphan children are walking along life after the death of their biological parents, the PCCS founders agreed to support such children. So we created space in our programs and opportunities in our community school to share what we have with the orphaned children.
At PCCS, we place an important focus on the welfare of children by looking out for their well-being: ensuring that communities receive the needed resources to support children in need, such as a caring family environment, housing and essential care to improve their social and intellectual stimulation while advocating for their rights.
Through our initiatives, we provide a platform for educational empowerment, especially for the underprivileged children in rural communities in Uganda. We work to encourage family-based and foster care to give vulnerable children or orphans hope for a better future through programs that encourage alleviation of poverty and eradication of diseases, providing healthy meals and basic health services, protecting and helping children achieve their full potential in life and to raise them up as God fearing, morally upright and economically self-sustaining responsible leaders.
You can be a blessing to thousands of orphan children by educating one or more, contribute to feeding them with good food, getting involved in our current fundraising, we are raising money to relocate, buy land and build our permanent school due to lack of space and an increase of rent. Thanks for your contribution!”
Due to increasing rent and lack of space to accommodate a full primary education up to P7 for the vulnerable children, we want to buy our own land and rebuild their Education Centre! We are planning to build enough classrooms, kit them with new equipment and be accessible to as many children as possible. Over half of the population in the community has no or little formal education; at www.peculiarchild.org we are working to change that. With more space, we will be able to increase the number of needy children from some of the poorest families in the community helping more children than ever to attend school. This means 2 specially adapted nursery classrooms and we will be adding two extra year groups so all Pupils shall graduate with a formal certificate of education ready for entry to secondary school.
Education is one of the most important tools to alleviate poverty. 700,000 children have no access to school in Uganda and 81% of parents lack money to send their kids to school. We want to tackle this problem head on and provide accessible education to vulnerable kids in the community. The current Education Centre has given hundreds of children a safe place in which they can learn and now it is time to expand this amazing vision with our own safer and larger space which can be adapted for children’s needs at “Peculiar Child Care Support”
Another way how you can help us sustain needy children in school is by becoming a child sponsor. Read more about it! @ www.peculiarchild.org

“ Volunteering in Uganda with PCCS was a magical experience words cannot describe. I loved every bit of my two weeks in Uganda, right from being picked up from the airport, my orientation and spending my days teaching at the local school. Alyson W - USA ”
